To upgrade from a B2 driver's license to an A2 driver's license, you must have held the B2 license for at least three years and have no record of accumulating 12 penalty points within the past two years. If your original license class is A1, you must have held it for at least one year, with no record of accumulating 12 penalty points within the past year, and be between 24 and 50 years old. Additionally, there must be no outstanding traffic violations. Otherwise, you will not be eligible to apply for the upgrade. According to Article 15 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses," if you already hold a motor vehicle driver's license and wish to add a new license class, you must not have accumulated 12 penalty points in the current scoring cycle or the most recent scoring cycle before applying. For applications to add medium-sized buses, tractors, or large passenger vehicles, the following additional requirements apply: To apply for a tractor (A2) license class, you must have held a medium-sized bus or large truck (B2) license for at least three years, or have held a large passenger vehicle (A1) license for at least one year, and have no record of accumulating 12 penalty points in the three most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying. According to Article 14 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses," to apply for a large passenger vehicle (A1) license class, you must have held a medium-sized bus or large truck (B2) license for at least five years, or have held a tractor (A2) license for at least two years, and have no record of accumulating 12 penalty points in the five most recent consecutive scoring cycles before applying. Article 15 states that the cumulative scoring cycle for traffic violations (i.e., the scoring cycle) is 12 months, with a maximum of 12 points, calculated from the date the driver's license was first issued. Based on the severity of the traffic violation, penalty points can be 12, 6, 3, 2, or 1 point. The cost of upgrading from B2 to A2 is the same as the initial test, and you must pass the written test (Subject 1), the driving skills test (Subject 2), and the road test (Subject 3). Subject 1 covers theoretical driving knowledge, road safety laws and regulations, and local regulations. Subject 2 includes tasks such as stopping and starting on a slope, parallel parking, curve driving, right-angle turns, passing through a narrow gate, navigating continuous obstacles, driving on uneven roads, making U-turns on narrow roads, and simulating highway driving. Subject 3 (road test) includes tasks such as changing lanes, pulling over, shifting gears, driving straight, meeting oncoming traffic, overtaking, and for the night test, switching between high and low beams. A B2 license allows you to drive heavy and medium-sized trucks, large and heavy specialized vehicles, and vehicles permitted under C1, C2, C3, C4, and M licenses. An A2 license permits you to drive tractors and heavy or medium-sized full or semi-trailer combinations.
