Can an Automatic Transmission License Drive a Manual Transmission Car?

A manual transmission license allows driving automatic transmission vehicles, but an automatic transmission license does not permit driving manual transmission cars. Driving a manual transmission car with a C2 driver's license is equivalent to driving without a license and will result in severe legal penalties. If this leads to a traffic accident causing injuries or fatalities, the driver will also bear legal responsibility. The permitted driving scope of a C1 driver's license includes: small and micro passenger vehicles with a total mass not exceeding 4.5 tons; light and micro cargo vehicles, with the total length of the cargo vehicle not exceeding 6 meters; light, small, and micro special operation vehicles; small passenger vehicles carrying 9 or fewer people, meaning vehicles with 9 or more seats, such as some SUVs and MPVs with more than 9 seats, cannot be driven. The permitted vehicle types for a C2 driver's license include: small and micro automatic transmission passenger vehicles, as well as light and micro automatic transmission cargo vehicles. Like the C1 license, it only allows driving automatic transmission cars with fewer than 9 seats and a length not exceeding 6 meters. Additionally, a C2 or higher license also permits driving small automatic transmission passenger cars specially designed for upper limb disabilities and shared vehicles for disabled individuals.
