Pretty much, yeah. You just put it in Drive and go. The car handles which gear to start in, and it’s always first gear. I’ve had my SUV for ten years, and I’ve never once thought about what gear it’s in when I leave a stoplight. It just works. If I’m going down a big hill near my house, I’ll sometimes shift it into "Low" to help slow me down without riding the brakes, but for normal driving, Drive is all you need.
