To successfully install the MeTra 99-7414 dash kit in your Nissan Sentra, carefully follow these steps for dashboard disassembly and reassembly:
Dashboard Disassembly:
- Begin by opening the storage compartment located above the radio. Pull out on the lip of the compartment to remove the entire compartment and AC vent assembly.
- Next, unclip and remove the trim panel located below the climate control, around the pocket area.
- Unscrew and remove the four screws that secure the radio, climate control, and pocket assembly. You'll find two screws on the top and two on the bottom. After removing the screws, unplug and remove the entire assembly.
- Remove the two screws that secure the climate control trim panel to the factory brackets.
- Take out the four screws that secure the radio to the factory brackets.
- Carefully remove the radio and climate control trim panel from the pocket/climate-control assembly.
- Unsnap and remove the climate control trim panel from the radio.
Kit Assembly:
- Take the aftermarket radio and remove the metal DIN sleeve and trim ring.
- Slide the radio in between the factory pocket and climate control assembly that you removed during disassembly. Use the screws included with the radio to attach it to the assembly.
- Snap the factory climate control trim panel (removed during disassembly) and the radio trim panel together.
- Place the completed assembly on the front of the radio, climate control, and pocket assembly. Secure the two assemblies using the screws removed during disassembly.
- Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector within the dash. Connect these to your radio and climate controls as needed.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test the radio to ensure it's working correctly.
- Reassemble the dash, reversing the disassembly steps.
