If your NETGEAR WiFi range extender is experiencing connectivity issues after being moved, here's how to reconnect it. You can choose from two methods:
-
Reconnecting via Ethernet:
- Connect your range extender to your computer using an Ethernet cable.
- Open a web browser on your computer and go to http://mywifiext.net.
- On the login page, enter the username and password you created during the initial setup, then click "LOG IN".
- Navigate to Setup > Wireless Settings.
- In the Security Options section, ensure the "Password (Network Key)" matches your router's password. If they don't match, update the extender's password to match your router's, then click "Apply".
- Finally, reconnect your WiFi devices to the extender.
-
Reconnecting via WiFi:
- Press and hold the "Factory Settings" button (usually on the side) on the extender for about 7 seconds to reset it.
- On your computer or mobile device, open your WiFi settings and connect to the extender's default WiFi network, which is often named NETGEAR_EXT.
- Open a web browser and go to http://mywifiext.net.
- Enter the default username "admin" and password "password", then click "LOG IN".
- Follow the on-screen prompts to reconnect the extender to your home network. If your router uses WEP security, you'll need to enter the network name (SSID) and password when prompted.
- Reconnect your WiFi devices to the extender.
