Based on numismatic records, the United States Mint did not produce an Eisenhower dollar in 1970. The official Eisenhower dollar series was minted from 1971 through 1978. The legislation authorizing the coin was passed in late 1970, but the first year of issue for the coins was 1971.
Therefore, a genuine 1970 Eisenhower silver dollar does not exist as a standard issue coin for circulation or for collectors. Because the coin was never minted, it does not have an established monetary or numismatic value. It is possible this date is confused with another denomination or that one is thinking of the year the coin was authorized rather than the year it was first struck. The Eisenhower dollars that do contain silver are the "Blue Ike" uncirculated and "Brown Ike" proof versions struck from 1971 to 1974, which are composed of 40% silver.
