To effectively use the temperature probe feature on your Hamilton Beach 33869 Digital Programmable Slow Cooker, follow these steps:
- Probe Placement: Insert the temperature probe into the thickest part of the food you are cooking, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom of the crock or any bones.
- Power On: Plug the slow cooker into a power outlet and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on.
- Activate Probe Mode: Press the PROBE button on the control panel. The PROBE button will illuminate, and the display will initially show a default temperature of 180°F (80°C). If the probe isn't correctly plugged in, the display will alternate between "PLUG" and "PRbE."
- Set Desired Temperature: Use the up arrow (^) or down arrow (v) buttons to select your target internal temperature. You can set the temperature between 100°F and 200°F (38°C-93°C).
- Choose Heat Setting: Press the ENTER button. The display will then show "HIGH." Use the up arrow (^) or down arrow (v) buttons to choose your desired heat setting: HIGH, LOW, or WARM.
- Start Cooking: Press the ENTER button again to begin cooking. The display will cycle between the current and the set target temperatures.

The slow cooker will automatically turn off after a total of 24 hours of cooking and WARM time if not manually turned off.
