Setting the time controls on your LEAP PQ9907S digital chess clock is straightforward. Here's a guide:
-
Positive Timing:
- Turn the clock on by inserting the battery and setting the ON/OFF switch to ON.
- The display will show "0:00 00", indicating positive timing.
- Use the rocker switch to set which side starts first (the top side on the display corresponds to the first player).
- Briefly press the Start/Pause button to start the clock.
-
Countdown Timing - Same Time for Both Players:
- While in the positive timing screen, press and hold the < + > button for two seconds to enter the countdown setting mode.
- The hour digit on the left will flash.
- Use the < + > or < - > buttons to adjust the time, in increments of 1, until you reach your desired time.
- Briefly press the button to switch to minutes, then seconds and set the time.
- When moving to the right side, the time from the left side will be automatically copied.
- After setting the time, you can also set the increment (bonus) and delay.
- Press and hold the button for two seconds to exit the setting mode.
- You can then start the clock.
-
Countdown Timing - Different Times for Each Player:
- Follow the same steps as in setting the countdown timing with the same time, but adjust the time on the right side of the display to set different times for each player.
- Set the desired time for each player individually.
- Start the clock when ready.
Note: The factory settings for both the bonus and delay are 0. Only one of these features can be used during a game; if you set a bonus, the delay is automatically set to 0, and vice versa.
