To replace the carbon brushes on your HILTI DD 110-D Diamond Core Drill, follow these steps: First, unplug the power cord from the outlet to ensure your safety. Next, locate and open the carbon brush covers on both the left and right sides of the motor housing. Before removing the old brushes, take note of their orientation and how the conductors are positioned; this will aid in the correct installation of the new brushes. Carefully remove the worn carbon brushes from the drill. Insert the new carbon brushes, ensuring they are placed in the same position as the old ones and are securely seated. Be careful not to damage the insulation on the indicator lead during insertion. Close the carbon brush covers and tighten the retaining screws. To properly seat the new brushes, run the machine under no load for at least one minute without interruption. After this run-in period, the service indicator lamp should turn off. For detailed illustrations and further information, consult the "Replacing the carbon brushes" section in the HILTI DD 110-D Diamond Core Drill Instruction Manual.
