Keeping your AVKIN Avline v7 Elite simulation package in top condition is essential for optimal performance and longevity. Here's a straightforward guide to cleaning and maintenance, based on the user manual:
-
Care and Maintenance:
- Remove any marks, moulage, or blood from the silicone chest.
- Flush distilled water through each port to clean the central line and port-a-cath, followed by an air flush.
-
Removing the Port-a-cath for Cleaning:
- Clamp the white clamp on the tubing that connects the blood bag to the port-a-cath.
- Disconnect the electrical and tubing connections.
- Remove the port-a-cath from the device by sliding out its housing.
- Pull out the silicone insert from the port-a-cath and wipe both the plastic and silicone components with a paper towel. Snap the silicone back into place once you're done.
- Connect the barb on the port-a-cath to the port-a-cath tubing. Reconnect the tubing from the blood bag to the port-a-cath tubing, and then release the white clip.
- Ensure the port-a-cath housing is firmly inserted into the device and clamped down.
- Reattach the electrical connection to the port-a-cath housing.
-
Replacing the Port-a-cath Skin:
- If the port-a-cath skin needs replacement, twist out the current skin counter-clockwise.
- To install the new replacement skin (clockwise), apply mineral oil to both the replacement skin and the chest plate.
By following these maintenance steps, you'll help ensure your AVKIN Avline v7 Elite simulation package continues to provide realistic and effective training experiences.
