Installing the Z-Axis Extension Module on your Snapmaker Original enhances its capabilities. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Installation Process:
- Power off your Snapmaker Original and unplug all cables.
- Allow the machine to cool down completely, especially if it was recently used.
- Detach the Filament Holder, the X-Axis (with the 3D Printing Module attached), and the Controller.
- Remove the existing Z-Axis. Then, attach the Z-Axis Extension Module.
- Reattach the Filament Holder to the Z-Axis, followed by the X-Axis and Controller.
- Reconnect all the cables that you unplugged in the first step.
Configuration in Snapmaker Luban:
- Update your Snapmaker Original's firmware to version 2.11 and install Snapmaker Luban on your computer.
- Connect your computer to your Snapmaker Original using the USB cable provided, and then power on the machine.
- Open Snapmaker Luban. In the left sidebar, go to the 'Workspace' section.
- Click on 'Connection', refresh the serial ports list, select the serial port corresponding to your Snapmaker Original, and then click 'Connect'.
- Choose 'Custom' and select the connected toolhead when prompted.
- Go to 'Machine Settings' under 'Settings'. Enter the following values under X, Y, and Z: 125, 125, and 221, respectively.
- Under 'Z-axis Extension Module', select 'On' from the drop-down menu, and click 'Save Changes'.
- Use the touchscreen controls on your Snapmaker Original to home the axes and level the Heated Bed. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions.
