Setting up your LAIIER LRSB001 Severn Board for water leak detection is straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide:
-
Opening the Board:
- Unlatch the two levers located on the sides of the board to open the enclosure.
-
Connecting the Sensor:
- Find the FFC connector on the side of the board.
- Lift the latch on the connector and carefully insert a Severn Sensor. Ensure the sensor contacts are facing upwards.
- Secure the sensor by closing the FFC connector latch.
-
Powering Up the Board:
- Inside the board, remove the battery safety pull tab from the AA Li-SOCl₂ cell battery. This activates the power.
- Observe the LED; it should illuminate in blue.
-
Closing the Board:
- Place the top of the enclosure back on the board and securely close it.
-
Mounting the Board and Sensor:
- Remove the protective layer from the 3M adhesive on both the sensor and the board.
- Stick them onto the surface you wish to monitor for leaks. Before attaching, clean the surface with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) to ensure optimal adhesion.
-
Board Start-Up and Self-Test:
- Upon power-up, the LED will flash blue for one second.
- The board will then attempt to connect to the LoRaWAN network, indicated by a continuous blue flashing LED.
- Once connected successfully, the LED will flash red, yellow, or green, depending on the network signal strength.
- To initiate a self-test, swipe a magnet along the side of the board, or the self-test will begin automatically after 10 minutes.
- During the self-test, the LED will turn white, and the results will be displayed, indicating water presence, self-test status (passed/failed), sensor issues, or internal errors.
- If the LED shows yellow or red, follow the instructions provided to address sensor issues, or contact support.
- To set the board into run mode after the self-test, swipe the magnet again or wait 10 minutes. The LED will briefly flash green.
-
Monitoring and Alerts:
- The board continuously monitors the sensor status every minute.
- It transmits messages every hour if no water is detected.
- The system detects a leak if three adjacent sensor electrodes register a change past the defined threshold within a minute.
- When a leak is detected, messages are sent every 10 minutes until the issue is resolved.
