Configuring the charging curve on the MEAN WELL DRS-480 All-In-One Intelligent Power involves several steps. First, identify your battery type, as the DRS-480 supports lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Then, select the appropriate charging curve. The device typically offers pre-defined curves accessible via DIP switches. These curves cater to various battery chemistries such as gel, flooded, AGM, and LiFePO4 batteries. Consult the DRS-480 manual for specific DIP switch settings based on your battery's voltage (e.g., 24V, 36V, or 48V). For more advanced customization, consider using the SBP-001 Smart Programmer (sold separately). This allows you to fine-tune charging parameters like Constant Current (CC), Tapper Current (TC), Constant Voltage (CV), and Float Voltage (FV) to match your battery's exact specifications. The SBP-001 connects to a computer for easy configuration of these curves. Finally, to leverage temperature compensation, attach the included NTC temperature sensor near your battery. The DRS-480 will automatically adjust the charging voltage based on temperature. You can further modify compensation parameters through communication commands. Always verify your settings after making adjustments to ensure optimal charging for your battery.
