To ensure your Mircom MIX-2351TAPA sensor is functioning properly, perform these tests as suggested in the installation manual. Begin with the Functional Test (Magnet Test). Use a test magnet (P/N M02-04-01 or M02-09-00) to simulate smoke. Hold the magnet near the designated test area to trigger an alarm. Next, the Smoke Entry Test involves checking sensitivity readings via the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) or using approved canned aerosol simulated smoke. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the canned smoke. For the Direct Heat Method, use a 1000-1500 watt hair dryer to test the thermistors. Hold the heat source about 12 inches away, directing the heat toward each thermistor individually. Alternatively, use a Testifire® by SDi for the Multi-Criteria Method to test both smoke and heat sensors. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for complete testing procedures. If any test fails, try cleaning the sensor as described in the manual and then retest. After successful testing, return the system to normal operation and inform the appropriate authorities that the system is operational.
