To configure your wm SYSTEM M2M Industrial Router for cellular internet connectivity, follow these steps:
- Antenna Installation: Begin by attaching a 50 Ohm SMA antenna to the Main antenna connector.
- SIM Card Insertion: Insert an activated mini SIM card into the SIM slot. Ensure the SIM chip surface faces up and the cut edge aligns with the router. Push the SIM card until it clicks securely into place. To remove, power off the router and gently press the SIM card to release.
- Ethernet Connection (Initial): Use a UTP cable to connect the router's Ethernet RJ45 port to your computer's Ethernet port for the initial configuration. After configuration, connect the cable to your intended external device.
- Alternative Configuration (Optional): You can also configure the router through the micro-USB slot, using a microUSB-USB cable connected to your PC.
- Connecting External Devices (Optional): Connect devices, such as an RS485 meter, to the RS485 port. For Modbus devices, connect to port 12, and for RS232 devices, connect to port 11.
- Powering On: Connect the microfit DC power connector to power on the router. Observe the LED indicators for device status.
- Accessing the Router Interface: Connect to the router via Ethernet. Open your computer's web browser and enter the router's IP address (typically 192.168.127.x, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0) to access the configuration interface.
- Configuring Cellular Settings: Within the router's web interface, navigate to the Network/Interfaces menu and configure the cellular network settings. Input the appropriate settings specific to your cellular network provider for the WAN interface.
- Saving Settings: After configuring the cellular settings, click the "Save & Apply" button to save your changes.
- Verifying Connection: Confirm that the router has successfully connected to the mobile internet network. Check the RX (received data), TX (sent data), and KB (KBytes) values; these should be increasing if the connection is active. The LED indicators will also display the network registration status.
- Further Customization (Optional): You may also adjust LAN settings, DHCP, DNS settings, and perform firmware updates as needed for optimized performance.
