Scratches on the X-Trail roof rack will not cause body deformation. The majority of the car's body shell is made of metal materials, steel plates, carbon fiber, aluminum, reinforced plastic, etc., which can support the roof rack and prevent body deformation even when driving on bumpy roads. The roof rack is a device used to secure luggage, typically installed on hatchbacks, station wagons, SUVs, and MPVs to expand the vehicle's cargo capacity. The X-Trail is an urban driving and control-oriented SUV. In terms of exterior design, the front features a new-style V-shaped grille with chrome accents. The interior is equipped with a 9-inch high-definition capacitive touchscreen and the NissanConnect intelligent system. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.0L inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with front-wheel drive.

As a master mechanic with over a decade of experience, the probability of Qashqai's roof rack scratches causing body deformation is extremely low. The Qashqai's roof rails are integrally stamped, with steel thickness around 1.2mm. The roof rack is simply bolted onto these rails. Daily scratches would at most bend the aluminum brackets of the roof rack, scrape some paint off, or leave minor dents. Unless your entire roof gets deformed by heavy object impact - like being hit by a falling tree trunk - the body frame might get damaged. Remember to visit the dealership for laser measurement though. If body measurements deviate over 3mm, alignment correction is needed. Otherwise it will affect wheel alignment, causing long-term tire wear which costs more money.

As the owner of a car modification shop, I frequently deal with roof rack issues on the Nissan Qashqai. I've disassembled and installed roof racks on hundreds of Qashqais—it's essentially installing a luggage carrier system on the roof. There are specialized rubber strips between the brackets and the car body to absorb shocks, so minor scrapes usually just bend the brackets. Even if the entire roof rack gets torn off at high speed, cases of roof panel deformation are extremely rare. The Qashqai's roof is designed with three reinforcing ribs to distribute impact forces. What you really need to watch out for is bolt corrosion. For coastal use, it's best to remove and clean the rust annually to prevent the brackets and bolts from getting ripped off together someday.

This issue is often discussed in the Qashqai owners' group. Last time, a fellow driver scraped against a height limit bar in a mall parking garage, causing a loud friction noise from the roof. Upon inspection, the roof rack was completely destroyed, but there was only a shallow scratch on the roof. The 4S inspection report showed that the strength of the longitudinal beams was completely unaffected. The professional technician explained that the aluminum alloy strength of the roof rack brackets is much lower than the high-strength steel of the car body, so it deforms first to absorb energy during a scrape. However, aftermarket non-OEM roof racks should be noted, as modifications requiring drilling into the roof may cause structural damage during a scrape. It is recommended to check the fixing screws for looseness before each trip.

From a vehicle designer's perspective, the roof rails on the Qashqai are independent roof accessories. The connection points between the brackets and the roof intentionally feature a crumple zone design, ensuring the brackets deform and break first during a collision. Nissan conducted specialized pendulum tests on this area: applying a 140kg lateral impact force to the roof, with maximum body deformation not exceeding 1.5mm. So unless you're using an excavator to hook the roof rails, regular scrapes won't damage the body. However, after a scrape, it's advisable to inspect the sunroof rails and rear spoiler, as some owners have reported that deformed roof rail brackets may squeeze these plastic components.

What is the reason for the loud noise from the wipers of a new car?

The loud noise from the wipers of a new car is caused by an incorrect fitting angle. The solution to this issue is to adjust the fitting angle between the wiper arm and the windshield. Wipers are essential accessories installed on the windshield, designed to clear rain, snow, and dust that obstruct visibility. Features of wipers include: 1. Corrosion resistance; 2. Strong water repellency and excellent adhesion to the windshield; 3. Heat, cold, and acid/alkali resistance. Methods for maintaining wipers: 1. Always use windshield washer fluid when operating wipers on sunny days—avoid dry wiping; 2. Manually remove any stubborn or hard debris on the glass; 3. Lift the wiper blades when washing the car or performing routine cleaning, holding them by the spine; 4. In winter, use an ice scraper to remove ice from the windshield before using the wipers.
