Why won't the BYD Tang start?

The reasons why the BYD Tang won't start are as follows: Check if the battery voltage is too low: You can turn on the headlights and some electrical devices to observe whether the dashboard and interior lighting dim during the starting process. If they noticeably dim, it indicates insufficient battery voltage. Excessive carbon buildup in the intake pipe: Too much carbon buildup on components like the throttle valve and idle speed control motor prevents the engine from achieving the required air-fuel ratio for the mixture, resulting in the vehicle failing to start. This can also cause repeated engagement of the solenoid and starter relay, producing a clicking sound. Insufficient fuel supply in the fuel system: This phenomenon is essentially similar to excessive carbon buildup in the intake pipe, as it also prevents the engine from achieving the required air-fuel ratio for the mixture, leading to the vehicle's failure to start.
Once when I was driving a BYD Tang, it suddenly wouldn't start. Later, I found out it was because the battery was old and had no power left—the voltmeter showed it was below 12 volts. It could also be a starter motor issue, where it turns but doesn't respond; or a weak spark due to carbon buildup on the spark plugs in the ignition system; insufficient fuel supply from a faulty fuel pump could also prevent starting. Remember to check if the key fob is out of battery, as low power in a smart key can cause poor recognition. I added some fuel, and after regular maintenance, replacing the battery, and checking the ignition components, it never happened again. Preventive measures are crucial—turn off all electronics when parking to avoid power drain. If it happens, don't panic. First, try jump-starting or call roadside assistance—safety comes first.
