Why doesn't the engine oil light come on during key-on self-test?

The reason why the engine oil light does not come on during key-on self-test is: a problem with the engine oil pressure sensor or its wiring. The solution is: replace the engine oil pressure sensor and repair the wiring. Key-on self-test refers to the process when the car is just started, various indicator lights on the dashboard will light up and naturally turn off after 2 to 3 seconds. If any indicator light does not turn off, it indicates a fault in the corresponding part of the car, such as the appearance of an oil can symbol indicating the need to add engine oil. The engine oil light is a component that monitors normal oil pressure. Only normal oil pressure can ensure that oil is delivered to the surface of all friction parts of the engine. Too high or too low oil pressure will affect the normal operation of the engine and may even cause damage to engine components. Therefore, when the engine oil light alarms, the cause should be immediately investigated, and the car should not be driven until the fault is resolved.
