Geely is under Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. Geely Automobile Brand: Geely is an automobile brand. The demand for Geely continued to rise after China's accession to the WTO and reached a boiling point in 2003. It was these three years of booming sales that provided great temptation for all investors who had already entered or planned to enter the market. It was also these three post-WTO years of prosperity that gave Geely the opportunity to grow rapidly. Development of Geely: In 2004, the automobile market cooled sharply. Except for a few Geely models that remained popular, the entire market was more or less sluggish. This also made all participants in the Geely automobile sector (manufacturers, dealers, and consumers) more sober and rational. After entering 2005, the entire automobile market became more stable.
Last time I looked up information, I found the Geely brand quite interesting. Its hometown is in Zhejiang Province. It started out in Taizhou, Zhejiang, and has now moved its headquarters to Binjiang District, Hangzhou. People from Zhejiang really have a knack for business—Geely has grown from a private enterprise into one of China's largest automotive brands. When I was on a business trip in Hangzhou, I saw their headquarters building, and it was quite impressive. After acquiring Volvo, they’ve become more international, but their roots are still in Zhejiang. Zhejiang has a strong manufacturing industry, so it’s no surprise that Geely emerged from there. Places like Ningbo Port also make it convenient to export finished vehicles. I think geographical location has a big impact on the development of automotive brands.
My neighbor works at the Geely R&D center and mentioned that Geely is a local brand from Zhejiang. I remember in the 1990s when Geely first started making cars, Li Shufu began his entrepreneurial journey in Taizhou. Now, the industrial park by the Qiantang River in Hangzhou is Geely's headquarters, with tens of thousands of R&D staff alone. The Zhejiang government provides substantial support to them, considering they're a local pillar enterprise. Besides Geely, Zhejiang also has automakers like Zotye, but their influence is much smaller. Once, I rented a Geely Boyue for a road trip, and the driver specifically pointed out that it was a car produced in Zhejiang.
