I drive a 2021 Honda CR-V. For me, it's second nature. I just reach down near my left knee, right where the door closes. There's a little plastic handle with the picture of a car with its hood open. I give it a solid pull. I hear a pop from the front. Then I walk to the front, stick my hand under the gap, find the metal lever right in the middle, push it to the right, and lift. The whole thing takes ten seconds. My wife's Hyundai has the lever on the lower dashboard by the footwell. Same basic idea, though.
