Where is the headlight switch on the Passat?

There is a rotary knob on the lower left side of the steering wheel. Turn it to the top position (AUTO) to turn on the headlights. Turn the headlight switch to the right to activate the low beams, push the turn signal lever outward for high beams, and lift it inward for the flash function. Car headlights are installed at both ends of the front of the vehicle and are used for illumination during nighttime or in low-light driving conditions. The headlight assembly also includes position lights (also known as parking lights), which are used during evening or nighttime driving to indicate your vehicle's position to other road users.
In the Passat model, the position of the headlight switch is easy to find. It is usually located on the turn signal lever on the left side of the steering wheel. You see, that lever is used for turning signals, right? There is typically a knob or wheel at the top or side of it—that's the switch. Turning it controls the headlights' on/off function. I've driven the Passat B8 in recent years and found this design very convenient, right at your fingertips, so you don’t have to look down while driving. If the switch malfunctions or the lights don’t turn on, it might be a bulb issue—it’s best to check the dashboard for any warning indicators. By the way, some older Passat models might have the switch on a small panel at the lower left side of the dashboard, but most newer models use this steering wheel control. Before parking or driving at night, remember to check the headlight status to ensure safety. Getting into the habit of familiarizing yourself with the switch position can help avoid unexpected situations that might affect driving safety.
