My hometown is in Shangrao, Jiangxi, where there's a production base for Hanteng Auto. Back in the day, the factory was quite large, located in the Shangrao Economic and Technological Development Zone. Hanteng is considered a local brand, and although it's not making much noise these days, the factory is indeed solidly built in Shangrao, mainly producing SUVs and new energy vehicles. I remember reading news a few years ago that they introduced engine production lines from Germany's MAHLE Group for their technology, but the core assembly and production processes were all completed in Shangrao.

When I worked in car sales before, I came across the Hanteng brand. It is indeed a domestic car brand with its production base located in Shangrao, Jiangxi. The manufacturer's materials all indicate that it's made in Shangrao. But to be honest, the quality control of this brand is somewhat similar to that of the Zotye group, with some owners reporting relatively more minor issues. The factory area is quite large—I've visited the welding workshop, and the level of automation is decent. However, I always felt that the attention to detail isn't on par with first-tier domestic brands, and the assembly process could use some improvement.

As a hardcore car enthusiast, I've looked into Hanteng's background. Established in 2013 with its factory located in Shangrao, Jiangxi, it's essentially a sibling company of Zotye Auto. The production base covers a considerable area, even including an engine plant, and initially promoted Mitsubishi technology in its early days. However, after actually visiting the workshops, the production equipment appeared relatively outdated with inconsistent quality control. Now it's basically in a semi-halted production state, and original Hanteng X7 owners are complaining about the difficulty in finding spare parts.

A couple of days ago, I took a ride in a Hanteng X7, and the driver complained about the hassle of repairs. I specifically looked it up—this car is produced in Shangrao, Jiangxi, but the number of 4S shops is pitifully small. Although the factory claims to be independently producing, a friend at a repair shop mentioned that the parts have a high degree of compatibility with Zotye models, suggesting they might come from the same OEM. Buyers of this car should beware—the after-sales service coverage for niche brands is notoriously poor.

Last year, while writing the automotive industry report, I conducted specialized research on Hanteng. Data shows its registered address and production base are both located in the Shangrao Economic Development Zone, Jiangxi, covering over 1,000 acres. Interestingly, its technical line highly overlaps with Zotye, and many production line managers came from Jiangxi Isuzu. The early flagship model Hanteng X7 claimed German design, but in reality, except for chassis tuning, most components were assembled locally in Jiangxi by domestic suppliers, with very few actual export cases.

What does TC mean when it appears on the car's dashboard?

The appearance of TC on the car's dashboard indicates that the Traction Control system is active. TC stands for Traction Control System, which is designed to prevent wheel slippage. When braking or accelerating rapidly on slippery surfaces, wheels are prone to skidding, which can lead to loss of control and potential danger. To address such safety concerns, the Traction Control System was developed. TC relies on the electronic sensors of the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). When it detects that the speed of the driven wheels is lower than that of the driving wheels, indicating wheel slippage, it sends a feedback signal to the car's system. The system then adjusts ignition timing, reduces throttle opening, decreases fuel supply, downshifts, or applies brakes to the wheels to prevent them from slipping.

Why is the Engine Start-Stop Not Working?

Reasons why the engine start-stop is not working: 1. The battery charge may be less than 70%, and the temperature is not below 65 degrees; 2. The seat belt is not fastened or the air conditioning is turned on; 3. The transmission is in P or R gear; 4. The vehicle speed is not zero; 5. The driver's door is open. The function of the engine start-stop system is to automatically shut off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop during driving. When it's time to move forward again, the system automatically restarts the engine, which helps reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, lower emissions, and improve fuel economy. Advantages of the engine start-stop function: It can reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, lower emissions, and improve fuel economy; during urban traffic when waiting for traffic lights or in traffic jams, it can minimize engine idling time, and after the engine shuts off, its power supply can replace the belt pulley to provide operating power for the engine cooling fan and in-car air conditioning.

Where to add transmission oil for Volkswagen Lavida?

Adding transmission oil for Volkswagen Lavida: For the 6-speed automatic transmission, drain the oil from the 10 hexagonal screws at the bottom (one screw, and there is also a plastic screw inside for oil drainage - remove both). When refilling, install the plastic screw and fill until oil overflows, then start the engine and refill until oil overflows again. For the 7-speed automatic transmission, drain the oil from the bottom, and refill 1.9L through the vent hole near the gear shift cable. Transmission oil is a lubricant used to maintain the cleanliness of the gear system, providing lubrication to extend the lifespan of the transmission components. It offers effective lubrication even at low temperatures and reduces oil loss under harsh operating conditions.
