The cabin air filter in the new BMW X1 is located on the side panel of the front passenger seat, specifically near the left foot area of the front passenger. Use an 8mm socket screwdriver to remove the nuts and take off the base plate. Be careful not to use excessive force when removing the base plate. Disconnect the wiring harness above it before completely removing the base plate. After removing the base plate, proceed to remove the side panel. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws. Note that there are three additional snap fasteners inside the side panel. Once the side panel is removed, you will find the cabin air filter and its housing.
