The Lan-Nan Expressway runs from Lankao to Nanyang, abbreviated as Lan-Nan Expressway. The Xuchang to Yexian section of the Lan-Nan Expressway has been incorporated into the national expressway G0421 (Xu-Guang Expressway). It starts in Lankao County, Kaifeng City, and ends in Nanyang City. The Xuchang-Pingdingshan-Nanyang section of the Lan-Nan Expressway was opened to traffic on December 12, 2004, and the Lankao-Xuchang section was opened to traffic on November 19, 2005. The Lan-Nan Expressway passes through Lankao, Yanling, Xuchang, Pingdingshan to Nanyang, and intersects with the Lian-Huo Expressway, Ri-Lan Expressway, Nan-Luo Expressway, Jing-Gang'ao Expressway, Hu-Shaan Expressway, Da-Guang Expressway, and Er-Guang Expressway.
I often drive on this road. The Lan-Nan Expressway is a highway connecting Lanzhou in Gansu to Nanning in Guangxi, with a total length of approximately 2,100 kilometers. It's my preferred route for long-distance freight transportation. Passing through Gansu, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, and finally reaching Guangxi, the route is mostly mountainous, with many curves in the Guizhou section, requiring extra attention to brakes and light checks while driving. The scenery along the way changes dramatically, from the arid terrain of the Loess Plateau to the subtropical climate of Nanning, creating a strong contrast. Fog is common during rainy days, so cautious driving is necessary. The service areas are relatively well-equipped, making refueling and rest convenient. I recommend that novice drivers prepare emergency tools and avoid fatigue driving. This expressway contributes significantly to the economy as a major logistics artery in the southwest, saving me time costs when transporting goods. The road is generally well-maintained, with heavier traffic during holidays, but the overall driving experience is smooth.
