Geely Binrui uses Bosch (BOSCH) specialized iridium spark plugs. Under high voltage, the air between the spark plug's center electrode and side electrode rapidly ionizes, forming positively charged ions and negatively charged free electrons. When the voltage between the electrodes reaches a certain level, the number of ions and electrons in the gas increases like an avalanche, causing the air to lose its insulating properties and forming a discharge channel, resulting in a "breakdown" phenomenon. At this point, the gas forms a luminous body, known as a "spark." Along with the heat expansion, a "crackling" sound is also produced. The temperature of this electric spark can reach 2000–3000°C, which is sufficient to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder's combustion chamber. Steps for replacing spark plugs: Open the engine hood, lift the plastic engine cover, remove the high-voltage ignition wires, and mark each cylinder's position to avoid confusion. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plugs one by one. While removing them, check for external debris such as leaves or dust and ensure they are thoroughly cleaned. Place the new spark plug into the spark plug hole, hand-tighten it a few turns, and then use the socket to tighten it further. Reinstall the high-voltage ignition wires in the firing order and secure the cover.

The spark plugs used in the Geely Binrui usually depend on the engine version, such as the 1.4T or 1.5T models, which are often equipped with multi-electrode spark plugs from NGK or Bosch. The specific heat range should be referred to in the owner's manual. When I drove this car, I found that the factory recommended double platinum or iridium types, which offer good ignition performance and durability. Choosing the wrong spark plugs can cause delayed ignition, affecting acceleration and smoothness. Replace them every 30,000 kilometers or two years to avoid issues, and regularly check if the gap is within standard. If you're unsure about the model, it's best to visit a 4S shop or a professional repair shop for inspection. If replacing them manually, be careful not to damage the coil.

I've been into cars for over a decade. In the Binrui owners' group, we often use Torch or NGK LFR6AIX series spark plugs - they offer great compatibility at reasonable prices. When selecting, pay attention to electrode material and gap; around 0.8mm is ideal. Don't cheap out on no-name brands, or you'll get unstable ignition and higher fuel consumption. I've changed mine twice myself, saving about fifty bucks in labor each time, but you need proper tools and careful operation. Regular maintenance keeps the engine lively and makes driving much more enjoyable.

The automotive ignition system relies on the correct matching of spark plugs. The Geely Binrui commonly uses platinum or iridium types, such as NGK or Bosch brands. Incompatibility may cause engine shaking or starting failure, affecting driving safety. Referring to the vehicle manual for model specifications is the most reliable approach, and original manufacturer-recommended parts should be prioritized during maintenance.

Spark plug replacement is routine maintenance. Geely Binrui owners often choose platinum models from NGK or domestic brands for their high cost-effectiveness, fuel efficiency, and durability. A full replacement costs a few hundred yuan, much cheaper than engine damage. It's recommended to inspect them every 30,000 kilometers - selecting the correct model extends service life.
