Geely Vision is equipped with a 1.5L inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission, 4-speed automatic manual transmission, or CVT continuously variable transmission. Transmission: A device that changes speed ratio and direction of motion, used in automobiles, tractors, ships, machine tools, and various machines to alter torque, speed, and motion direction transmitted from the driving shaft to the driven shaft under different working conditions. Gear transmission systems generally consist of a housing and several gear pairs. Geely Vision Powertrain: The Geely Vision is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power output of 109 horsepower and peak torque of 142Nm. It utilizes multi-point fuel injection technology, reaching maximum power at 6000 rpm and peak torque at 4400 rpm.
Last month, I happened to accompany a friend to test drive the Geely Vision. This car offers two transmission options. The manual version comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, which provides direct and flexible operation, making it suitable for users who pursue driving pleasure and fuel economy. The automatic model is equipped with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), delivering a smooth driving experience like gliding on ice, especially comfortable in stop-and-go city traffic. The older automatic models used a 4AT transmission, but the newer versions have all been upgraded to CVT, significantly improving the belt transmission efficiency. Although it may not be as intelligent as the transmissions in luxury cars, it’s quite commendable for its price range. I recommend testing both versions to feel the shifting response during the test drive.
