What to do if the wiper linkage is rusty?

Remove the wiper, then use sandpaper to grind off the rust, spray some paint, and reinstall it to solve the problem. Purchase the same model of wiper from a 4S store, remove the old wiper, and install the new one.
When I find the wiper linkage rusted, I usually handle it myself. First, remove the wiper arm to expose the linkage, and gently brush off the surface rust with a stiff-bristled brush. Then spray WD-40 or a similar rust-preventive lubricant, let it penetrate for a few minutes, and wipe off any excess. If the rust is severe, sand it smooth with sandpaper. Remember to regularly check the rain tray for any standing water to prevent rust. Also, if the wipers don't work smoothly during rain, inspect them promptly to avoid impaired visibility and unsafe driving. I perform this maintenance annually to keep them lubricated and problem-free. Before starting, ensure safety by disconnecting the power and avoid scratching your hands or the car's paint.
