Geely Boyue's mid-to-low trim models use Giti tires, while the high-end trim models are equipped with Cooper tires from the Discoverer series, which are designed for urban SUVs, balancing handling and quiet performance. In terms of tire size, only the 2.0L manual Zhiyue version of the Geely Boyue has a specification of 225/65R17, while other models feature 225/60R18 18-inch large wheels. The Geely Boyue has a body length of 4519mm, width of 1831mm, height of 1694mm, and a wheelbase of 2670mm. The fuel tank capacity is 60 liters, and the vehicle weight ranges between 1.5t to 1.8t.

My Geely Boyue originally came with Giti SUV880 series tires, model 225/60 R18. After three years of use, I find this set performs well overall - quiet enough for daily commuting with good wet weather drainage thanks to its tread pattern. The tire repair technician mentioned this is a common specification: 225 indicates tread width, 60 is the aspect ratio, and R18 refers to wheel size. The premium Boyue trim uses Continental UC6 tires which offer better grip but cost twice as much. When replacing tires, remember to choose XL (Extra Load) rated versions since SUVs are heavier - you can check the original specifications on the door frame label by the driver's seat.

The tires on the Boyue vary by model year and configuration. Based on our veteran owner group's statistics: the Classic trim mostly comes with Giti Comfort SUV520 (225/65 R17), while my PRO model uses Cooper Discoverer HTS (225/60 R18). The sidewall numbers should be read together - for example, the 60 in 225/60 indicates the aspect ratio (tire wall thickness as percentage of width), and the 18-inch wheels significantly improve handling. The newly launched top-tier Boyue L now upgrades to 235/45 R20 Continental tires - larger wheels but thinner sidewalls are more prone to bulging, so definitely slow down for potholes. When replacing tires, it's recommended to maintain the original speed rating V (up to 240km/h) and load index 102 (850kg per tire).

Just had my tires replaced on the Geely Boyue, let me share some insights. The factory tires are usually 225-width 17/18-inch specifications, but do check your configuration sheet for exact details. Pay special attention to the yellow label on the door frame—it clearly states the recommended tire pressure and tire specifications. When I changed my tires, I compared a few options: Giti tires are economical and practical, costing around 500 yuan per tire, while Continental MC6 tires cost 900 yuan but offer top-tier noise reduction. Always replace tires on the same axle with identical tread patterns! For AWD vehicles, it's especially crucial to use the same tires on all four wheels to avoid damaging the transfer case. After replacement, make sure the mechanic resets the tire pressure monitoring system—drive a couple of kilometers, and the dashboard warning light will turn off.
