Vehicle modification requires the following procedures: 1. Legal requirements: According to Article 11 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," when applying for modification registration, the motor vehicle owner shall fill out an application form, present the motor vehicle for inspection, and submit the following documents and certificates: the identity proof of the motor vehicle owner; the motor vehicle registration certificate; the motor vehicle license; if the engine, body, or frame is replaced, a motor vehicle safety technical inspection certificate shall also be submitted; if the entire vehicle is replaced due to quality issues, a motor vehicle safety technical inspection certificate shall also be submitted, except for motor vehicles imported through customs and those exempted from safety technical inspection as recognized by the competent motor vehicle product department of the State Council. 2. Notes: The vehicle management office shall, within one day from the date of acceptance, confirm the motor vehicle, review the submitted documents and certificates, note the modification items on the motor vehicle registration certificate, retrieve the license, and reissue a new license. When handling the modification registration items specified in items (3), (4), and (6) of the first paragraph of Article 10 of these regulations, the vehicle management office shall verify the vehicle identification number imprint.
