
VVL refers to the F3, L3, and G3 models. Meaning of VVL: VVL stands for Variable Valve Lift. In traditional gasoline engines, the valve lift is fixed and unchangeable. The adoption of VVL allows the engine to meet the required valve lift in both high-speed and low-speed ranges, thereby improving the engine's high-speed power and low-speed torque. Introduction to BYD VVL: In line with the global trend of low-carbon environmental protection and in response to the national call for energy conservation and emission reduction, BYD has adopted the VVL system in its newly launched BYD473QE engine, which will be used in its F3, L3, and G3 models. Engines equipped with VVL technology can adjust the valve stroke according to the engine speed. At high speeds, a long stroke is used to improve intake efficiency, making the engine breathe more smoothly. At low speeds, a short stroke is used to generate greater intake negative pressure and more swirl, ensuring thorough mixing of air and fuel, thereby enhancing torque output at low speeds.
