What is the treatment method for water ingress and corrosion in car plugs?

Many people would use toothpaste. It is effective, but it can easily scratch the plug. Please use it with caution on expensive earphone plugs. After wiping for 5 minutes, the oxidized liquid on the plug will fall off, but it may also leave some scratch marks on the plug. Oxalic acid (i.e., ethanedioic acid) can be used to remove rust. However, be careful when using it, as oxalic acid has strong corrosiveness to stainless steel. WD-40 can be used to clean capacitor circuit boards without any problem. It is originally used for cleaning mountain bike chains and can be used for polishing or weak acid cleaning.
