What is the range of BYD vehicles?

BYD's different models have varying ranges. For example, the BYD Han 2021 EV Standard Range Luxury version has a range of 506km; the BYD Qin PLUS 2021 EV Luxury version has a range of 400km; and the BYD PLUS New Energy 2021 DM-i 100KM AWD Flagship PLUS has a range of 505.0km. The range of an electric vehicle is influenced by many factors, such as ambient temperature, tire pressure, wind direction, whether the air conditioning is on, the vehicle's aerodynamic drag, battery capacity, etc. Pure electric vehicles do not have an engine, so many systems rely on electricity to operate, such as the air conditioning system, which runs entirely on electricity. Turning on the air conditioning while driving will lead to a decrease in range. In winter, the range of pure electric vehicles tends to be lower than usual because the battery contains electrolytes. Lower winter temperatures can reduce the conductivity of the electrolytes, thereby affecting the range. Additionally, if the tire pressure is too low, the contact area between the tires and the ground increases, leading to higher resistance when driving, which also results in reduced mileage. If the vehicle's drag coefficient is relatively high, the increased air resistance during driving will also lower the range.
I've been driving a BYD car for a while, and there's quite a difference in range between different models. Take the Han EV for example, the official claim is around 600 kilometers, but the actual range depends on how you use it. For city commuting, the range is stable, though using air conditioning or listening to music can increase energy consumption a bit. On the highway, maintaining an average speed of around 120 km/h will cause the range to drop faster. From my experience, regular charging and keeping the tire pressure at the right level can help extend the range a bit. In winter when it's cold or in summer when it's hot, the range might shrink, but for daily commuting, charging once a week is completely fine. Overall, choosing the right model and maintaining the battery well can save a lot of trouble, and the driving experience is quite satisfying.
