The dimensions of the Buick Excelle are as follows: length (mm): 4515, width (mm): 1725, height (mm): 1445, wheelbase: 2611mm. Additional information: 1. Positioning: The Excelle is positioned as an entry-level compact sedan. Its introduction represents Buick's further segmentation of the compact family car market. The new Excelle has moved away from its original design, becoming more youthful and stylish, while also embodying more of the family's design language. 2. Space performance: The Excelle maximizes space utilization. While it may not look impressive from the outside, despite having a wheelbase of only 2611mm, its space performance far surpasses many cars with a 2650mm wheelbase, thanks to its very reasonable design.

I drive a Buick Excelle every day, which is about 4.5 meters long, with official data stating 4515 mm. This size is very friendly for commuters like me, making it easy to navigate through alleys during rush hours and park in tight spots—much more hassle-free compared to larger cars like the Accord. However, on highways, it feels a bit less stable than 5-meter-long cars, given its shorter wheelbase. The trunk fits two 24-inch suitcases just fine, but for a stroller, you'd need to remove the wheels to fit it in, which might feel a bit cramped for families with kids. Overall, the Excelle's compact length is definitely an advantage in the city, even saving on parking fees a few times.

As a long-time owner of the Buick Excelle, I measured the body length to be 4.515 meters, which is about four-fifths of a standard parking space. This size is quite typical for compact cars, but it's about 15 centimeters longer than the old Jetta. It has a small turning radius, making it easy to navigate right-angle turns in residential areas in one go. However, when helping a friend move last time, I found that with the rear seats folded down, the longitudinal space is only 1.8 meters, making it impossible to fit a double-door refrigerator. If you frequently transport large items, you might want to consider a longer MPV.

The recorded length of the Buick Excelle on the vehicle green book is 4515mm, approximately equivalent to the height of a two-story building. As an American compact car, this size is 5cm shorter than the Japanese Nissan Sylphy but nearly half a meter longer than the Volkswagen Polo. In real-world experience, three adults can sit in the back without their knees touching, but taller colleagues may find their legs brushing against the front seatbacks. The car exhibits excellent tail-following during turns, though on rainy days when passing through narrow roads, extra caution is needed when the side mirrors are just a palm's width away from the wall.

During the last maintenance, I specifically checked the Buick Excelle's technical specifications. With a length of 4515mm, it falls into the typical compact car (A-segment) size range. The shorter Honda Fit measures just 4.1 meters, while the longer Volkswagen Passat exceeds 4.8 meters. This length makes it sufficiently agile for city driving, though you'll notice higher wind resistance and slightly increased fuel consumption compared to midsize (B-segment) cars on highways. Interestingly, the 92cm-deep trunk can just accommodate a golf bag standing upright, but anglers' 1.5-meter fishing rod cases would need to be placed diagonally.

What is the definition of running a red light?

Running a red light refers to the act of a motor vehicle violating the prohibition of passage during the red light phase at signal-controlled intersections or road sections, crossing the stop line and continuing to move. According to Article 26 of the Road Traffic Safety Law: Traffic signals consist of red, green, and yellow lights. A red light indicates prohibition of passage, a green light indicates permission to pass, and a yellow light serves as a warning. Article 44 states: Motor vehicles passing through intersections shall proceed according to traffic signals, traffic signs, traffic markings, or the direction of traffic police. Article 2, Section 1, Clause 2 of the Scoring Standards for Road Traffic Safety Violations stipulates that driving a motor vehicle in violation of traffic signal lights will result in a penalty of 6 points per violation. Here are some tips to avoid running a red light: Check arrow lights first, then circular lights: Currently, there are two types of signal lights: arrow traffic lights and circular traffic lights. When arrow lights are present, checking the arrow lights first and then the circular lights can help avoid running a red light. Note: When encountering a circular red light, right turns are allowed; when encountering an arrow signal light with a red right-turn arrow, right turns are prohibited, otherwise it will be penalized as running a red light. Brake in time: When the red light turns on, ensure the front of the vehicle does not cross the stop line. If the front wheels accidentally cross, and the rear wheels follow, electronic cameras will capture the violation, resulting in a penalty for running a red light. If the front wheels have just crossed the stop line when the light turns red, passage through the intersection is prohibited; wait for the green light before proceeding. Check the countdown on green lights before proceeding: When the green light flashes, if there is a countdown, judge accordingly; if there is no countdown, and the vehicle is close to the intersection with high speed, passage is allowed to avoid running a red light due to delayed braking. If the speed is slow and the vehicle is far from the intersection, brake immediately to stop and avoid running a red light. Article 38 of the Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China states for motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle signal lights: When the green light is on, vehicles are permitted to pass, but turning vehicles must not obstruct the passage of straight-moving vehicles or pedestrians. When the yellow light is on, vehicles that have already crossed the stop line may continue to pass. When the red light is on, vehicles are prohibited from passing. At intersections without non-motor vehicle or pedestrian crossing signal lights, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians shall follow the motor vehicle signal lights. When the red light is on, right-turning vehicles may pass if they do not obstruct the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians. Running a red light is not considered illegal under the following circumstances: Yielding to emergency vehicles: Yielding to ambulances, fire trucks, or other emergency vehicles. If captured by surveillance cameras while yielding, manual review will not record the act as running a red light. Even if recorded, one can apply for reconsideration at the traffic police department. Extreme weather: When visibility is extremely low, making it difficult for electronic police to clearly see the traffic lights. Blurred evidence photos may result in accidental red-light running, for which traffic police will not impose penalties.

Why Do Tires Blow Out in Summer?

The reasons for tire blowouts in summer are: 1. Air pressure issues; 2. Worn tread patterns; 3. Excessive wear on the tire surface or corrosion by oil substances; 4. Internal damage to the tire or bubbles in the tire cord layer. Methods for tire maintenance: 1. Regularly check tire pressure: The tire pressure value should be based on the standard recommended by the car manufacturer; 2. Regularly rotate tires: After the vehicle has been driven for a certain number of kilometers, the owner can swap the car's tires in a diagonal pattern; 3. Timely wheel balancing and four-wheel alignment: When the car has been involved in a collision accident, or if abnormal conditions such as wheel or steering wheel shaking, deviation, or increased steering effort are noticed during driving, the owner should promptly take the vehicle to a repair shop to determine whether wheel balancing or four-wheel alignment is needed.
