The installation process for the Wuling Hongguang Mini navigation system: 1. Pry open the edges of the storage box trim panel, remove the screws beneath the storage box, and take off the decorative strip; 2. Unscrew the screws on the central control panel, support the main unit with both hands, and remove it; 3. Pass the dedicated power cable and DVD cable of the car navigation system through the space between the two air vents, and arrange the GPS antenna; 4. Connect the car navigation system, fix the navigation device above the CD main unit, and restore all disassembled trim parts to their original positions. Taking the 2021 Wuling Hongguang Mini as an example, its body dimensions are: length 2920mm, width 1493mm, height 1621mm, with a wheelbase of 1940mm.

I just installed a navigation system for my Wuling Hongguang MINI, and the process was actually quite straightforward. First, you need to purchase a dedicated navigation module or an Android large screen specifically designed for this model. It's recommended to choose a version with a protocol box; otherwise, the original steering wheel buttons might not function properly. During installation, start by removing the original center console panel—just carefully pry it off using a plastic pry tool. Locate the original wiring harness connector and plug in the adapter cable for the new navigation system, making sure not to pull too hard. For the rearview camera, route the wiring by attaching the camera to the license plate light position and threading the cable through the tailgate rubber tube, then running it along the floor to the center console. The most crucial step is connecting the ACC power wire to the cigarette lighter fuse. Remember to start the car before testing the system. The whole process takes about two hours, but beginners are advised to spend 200 yuan to have a professional install it.

For the Wuling Hongguang MINI, I recommend the smart rearview mirror solution for navigation as it's more convenient. Purchase a streaming rearview mirror with ADAS function, which comes with front and rear dual recording and navigation. No need to dismantle the dashboard for installation: just clip the rearview mirror bracket onto the original mirror base, tuck the power cable along the edge of the windshield into the roof gap, and route it through the A-pillar trim to the fuse box. Place the GPS module in a corner of the dashboard, and hide the rear camera cable along the door frame trim. Connect to the hotspot via a mobile app to use Gaode real-time navigation, and it also supports voice control. This modification doesn't involve altering the original car wiring and can be done in about 40 minutes, making it particularly suitable for owners who are wary of cutting wires.

If you're handy, it's not difficult to install it yourself: prepare a Phillips screwdriver and insulating tape. Remove the glove compartment on the passenger side to expose the air conditioning ducts, then insert the navigation head unit into the gap in the dashboard. The key is to connect three wires: yellow to constant power (find the reading light fuse), red to ACC (cigarette lighter 15A fuse), and black to ground. Connect the reverse camera trigger wire to the positive terminal of the reverse light (green wire). After installation, secure the head unit box with double-sided tape to avoid rattling. Note! Do not connect the dash cam power to the OBD port, as it can easily drain the battery. Last time I installed it, I also enabled hidden features to display tire pressure.
