BMW was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Munich, Germany. Over the past 80 years, it has evolved from an aircraft engine manufacturer into a corporate group specializing in premium cars, while also producing aircraft engines, off-road vehicles, and motorcycles. BMW is also translated as "Bayerische Motoren Werke." In 1912, BMW developed its first motorcycle engine.
