What is the function of turn signals?

The function of turn signals is to indicate to pedestrians or other vehicles the direction in which the vehicle is about to turn, either left or right; on highways, they also indicate the direction for overtaking or lane changing; when both left and right turn signals flash simultaneously, it indicates that the vehicle is in an emergency situation, alerting other vehicles to be cautious. Situations requiring the use of turn signals include: Vehicle starting or lane changing: Turn signals must be turned on when starting, changing lanes, or turning. The turn signal should be activated approximately 30 to 100 meters before reaching the turning point, not just when already at the intersection. Entering or exiting a roundabout: When entering a roundabout, the left turn signal should be turned on in advance to alert the following vehicles; when exiting a roundabout, the right turn signal should be turned on in advance, and attention should be paid to yielding to vehicles coming from the right rear.
