What is the difference between waxing and not waxing after several years?

Generally, after 3 years of use, the fading of a new car will become very obvious. If regular waxing is maintained, the car can still maintain a luster close to that of a new car even after several years. Here are the advantages of waxing: Easier car washing: Even with a small amount of car wash liquid, it is easy to remove dirt. This is because waxing makes the paint surface smooth, and the dirt on it is easier to remove, making regular car washing more convenient. Protection against minor scratches: Wax forms a thin film on the car, protecting it from scratches. When the car is in motion, stones and scratches may fly around the door handles. By wrapping the car in a film (coating), it can be protected from scratches.
My car has been used for almost ten years. One has been waxed regularly, while the other has hardly been waxed at all. The waxed one looks brand new, with a shiny paint surface, just like when it was first bought. The color is well preserved, and rainwater washes it clean easily, with dirt not sticking easily. However, the unwaxed one has faded severely, turned dull gray, with small scratches and rust spots on the surface. After rain, it easily accumulates dust, and even vigorous scrubbing during car washing doesn't help, as if the dirt has seeped in. Long-term lack of waxing accelerates paint oxidation, leading to faster aging, making the car look old in about five years, and significantly depreciating its resale value. It is recommended to wax once a month. It doesn’t take much time but saves the trouble of repairs and keeps you in a good mood, as if driving a new car every day.
