What is the difference between external and internal tire repair?

Automotive tire repair methods include: traditional plug method (external repair), patch repair method (internal repair), and mushroom plug repair (internal repair). Traditional plug method: This is a relatively primitive method. The principle involves using a sharp tool like an awl to enlarge the puncture hole, then inserting a rubber strip coated with adhesive into the hole. Patch repair method: This is the most common method, used by the majority of tire repair shops. Mushroom plug repair: The mushroom plug is currently the most advanced tire repair method. Compared to other tire repair methods, it is safer, more thorough, and more stable, but it also comes at a higher cost.
