What is CVT?

CVT usually refers to a type of automotive transmission, also known as a continuously variable transmission, which has a history of over a hundred years. The difference between CVT and stepped transmissions is that its gear ratio is not a series of discrete points but a continuous range of values, thereby achieving good fuel economy, power performance, and smooth driving, while also reducing emissions and costs. Additionally, CVT can also refer to Intel Clear Video Technology or capacitive voltage transformers. By axially moving the movable discs of the driving and driven pulleys, the working radius where the conical surfaces of the driving and driven pulleys engage with the V-shaped belt changes, thus altering the gear ratio. When the gear ratio changes, the gear shifts, similar to the gears under a mountain bike. Below are some related advantages: 1. Fuel-efficient; 2. Better power performance compared to traditional AT and MT; 3. Low emissions.
