What Happens If You Add Diesel to a Gasoline Car?

It can cause severe damage to the vehicle. The specific hazards are as follows: 1. Carbon buildup in the engine: When diesel is added to a gasoline car and the engine is started, the fuel injector pressure is insufficient to fully atomize the diesel. As a result, the diesel enters the cylinder in liquid form, leading to incomplete combustion, which causes carbon deposits and may clog the fuel injectors. 2. Engine knocking: After diesel is added to a gasoline engine, the high-pressure fuel-air mixture reaches its auto-ignition temperature before the spark plug fires, causing violent combustion. This results in abnormal pressure in the combustion chamber, commonly known as engine knocking, which can damage the engine. In severe cases, it may even cause cylinder scoring.
