What engine and transmission are used in the Weichai U70?

Weichai U70 uses Dongan transmission. Dongan Automotive Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd., abbreviated as Dongan Qifa, was established on September 4, 1998, and is jointly invested by China, Japan, and Malaysia, known as the "three countries and six parties." The company is mainly engaged in the research, development, production, and sales of manual transmission (MT) products. It is the first enterprise in China to possess manufacturing technologies for engines, automatic transmissions, and manual transmissions simultaneously. The Weichai U70 transmission is equipped with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission. The automatic manual transmission has eight forward gears. Essentially, an automatic manual transmission is a traditional AT or CVT transmission with added manual shifting functionality. The purpose of the automatic manual transmission is to enhance the driving pleasure of automatic transmission vehicles. When using the transmission of the Weichai U70 in daily driving, the following points should be noted: Do not delay changing the transmission oil for an extended period. Prolonged failure to change the transmission oil can lead to damage to internal components such as bearings and the housing. Avoid coasting in neutral for long durations. While driving manual transmission vehicles, many experienced drivers may coast in neutral, but for automatic transmission vehicles, this can cause the transmission to overheat, and shifting back into D gear may produce a certain impact. Never shift into D/R gear before the vehicle has come to a complete stop. Many drivers, to demonstrate "smooth" operation, shift directly into reverse gear before the vehicle has fully stopped, which can significantly damage the internal gears of the transmission and, over time, lead to gear grinding and other faults. Avoid frequently climbing steep slopes in D gear. When facing steep slopes, automatic transmission vehicles often overheat due to high load or shift up too early, resulting in insufficient climbing power. In such cases, manual mode can be used to limit the gear to a lower speed or sport mode to protect the transmission. Do not tow the vehicle over long distances. If an automatic transmission vehicle breaks down, it should be moved onto a flatbed tow truck with the transmission in N gear, rather than being towed directly with a tow rope or similar means.
