What does vdcoff mean?

VDC, similar to ESP, is a vehicle stability control system. When the vdcoff light is illuminated, it indicates that the vehicle stability control system is turned off. When the system is active, the indicator light remains off. If the vdcoff light suddenly turns on, it means the vehicle stability control system is intervening in the vehicle's operation. However, if the indicator light stays on continuously, it may indicate that the system is either manually turned off or experiencing a malfunction. Methods to resolve the vdcoff light illumination: 1. Vehicle skidding: Normally, the VDC indicator light is off. If the vehicle starts to skid and the stability control system intervenes, the light will turn on and automatically turn off once the intervention is complete. 2. Stability control system turned off: If the light stays on continuously, it is often due to accidentally turning off the system. Pressing the off button on the control panel again should resolve this. If the light persists, restarting the engine will trigger a self-diagnosis, usually restoring the system to normal operation. 3. System malfunction: If the vdcoff light remains on after restarting the engine, it indicates a fault in the stability control system, requiring repair at a 4S shop. Situations to turn off the stability control system: When driving in mud or sand, turning off the system may be necessary to allow the vehicle to generate more power for escaping the situation. With the system on, if the wheels skid, the system will apply braking, limiting engine power and making it harder to get unstuck.
