China National V vehicle emission standard refers to the fifth stage of national motor vehicle pollutant emission standards, which is a vehicle exhaust emission standard formulated by environmental protection authorities. Its emission control level is equivalent to the Euro 5 emission standard currently implemented in Europe. Compared with the China National IV standard, after the implementation of the China National V standard, nitrogen oxide emissions from light-duty vehicles can be reduced by 25%, and nitrogen oxide emissions from heavy-duty vehicles can be reduced by 43%. Vehicle exhaust emissions refer to harmful gases emitted by vehicles, including CO (carbon monoxide), HC plus NOx (hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides), and PM (particulate matter, soot), all of which are gases produced during engine combustion.
