What does MR mean?

MR, also known as Mixed Reality, is the product of the fusion and interaction between the real world and the virtual world. In the real world, virtual digital worlds can be seen without any devices. In various sci-fi movies, we often see virtual projection control panels operated by technicians, which belong to this technology, and the key to this technology is interactivity. MR can be considered a hybrid of VR and AR, i.e., MR = VR * AR, and is referred to as Mixed Reality. It includes both augmented reality and augmented virtuality, referring to the new visual environment created by merging the real and virtual worlds. In this new visual environment, physical and digital objects coexist and interact in real-time. The realization of Mixed Reality (MR) requires an environment where it can interact with various elements of the real world. If everything is virtual, then that's the domain of VR. If the displayed virtual information can only be simply overlaid on real objects, then it's AR. The key point of MR is interaction with the real world and the timely acquisition of information.
Haha, when it comes to MR, in the automotive world it most commonly refers to the mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, where the engine is placed between the driver and passenger, closer to the center, and power is delivered to the rear wheels. This design makes sports cars more agile in handling, with classics like the old Toyota MR2 being prime examples. I feel that driving such cars is especially stable when cornering, thanks to the even weight distribution—they don’t wobble through turns. However, the downside is that maintenance can be inconvenient due to the hard-to-reach engine position, and beginners might find them overly sensitive, requiring more practice to get a feel for them. MR cars are rare on regular roads and are mostly used in high-performance or small sports cars. Compared to front-engine, rear-wheel-drive setups, they save some space but sacrifice rear-seat comfort. If you’re into cars and considering an MR, you’ll need to think about whether you prioritize driving fun above all else.
