What does DS mean in automatic transmission?

In automatic transmission, the D gear stands for Drive, also known as the driving gear, which is used when moving forward. The S gear represents Sport mode. When this gear is engaged, the transmission can shift freely, but the shifting timing is delayed to keep the engine at high RPM for a period, thereby increasing the car's power. Both gears can be engaged directly while driving. Besides D and S gears, automatic transmission cars also have these common gears: 1. P gear, Parking gear or Start gear, used when the car is parked and not in use, locking the wheels mechanically to prevent rolling; 2. N gear, Neutral gear, used for temporary stops (such as at a red light). Note that when using this gear on a slope, the brake must be applied to prevent the car from rolling backward.
