What does D32L mean in the Kia K2 automatic transmission?

2 and L refer to the low gear mode of the transmission. Taking a 5-speed automatic transmission as an example, in the normal forward gear D mode, the transmission forward gears will shift between 1-5. However, in the 2 mode, the transmission will only shift between 1-2 and will not upshift to higher gears like 3-4-5. In the L gear, the transmission will stay in low gears, but unlike the 2 gear, the L gear allows the transmission to upshift to the 3rd gear. Here is some relevant information: 1. Low gear: When going downhill or descending a long slope, shifting to a low gear like L can limit the car's gear to automatically stay in low gears, allowing the car to use engine braking when going downhill. This prevents the driver from having to press the brakes for a long time, which could overheat the brake pads and cause danger. 2. Function: It is most effective in severe traffic congestion and on steep slopes. When going up or down a slope, it can fully utilize the torque of the car's engine.
