What does a car VIN number mean?
1 Answers
Car VIN number is the vehicle identification code, commonly known as the chassis number. It is a set of codes assigned by the manufacturer to identify a vehicle. The VIN plate should be fixed on the door hinge pillar, door lock pillar, or one of the door edge pillars connected to the door lock pillar, near the driver's seat. The vehicle identification code is a group of 17 letters or numbers that can identify the car's manufacturer, engine, chassis serial number, and other performance data. To avoid confusion with the numbers 1 and 0, the English letters I, O, and Q are not used. The 10th digit, representing the model year, does not use I, O, Q, U, Z, or 0. Each VIN is unique and will not be repeated.
