What Causes Frequent Battery Drain in Scooter Motorcycles?
1 Answers
Scooter motorcycles frequently experiencing battery drain may indicate a current leakage in the wiring. Here are methods to detect whether there is a leakage: Prepare a fully charged battery for testing: Turn off the ignition switch, remove the drained battery for charging, and prepare a fully charged battery. Use the current measurement function of a multimeter to connect it to the motorcycle. Using a rectifier for testing: The meter's display shows the magnitude of the leakage current. Clearly, the above image indicates a significant milliampere leakage current in the wiring. With such a large leakage current, the battery naturally loses power after a few days. After inspection, it was found that upon disconnecting the rectifier, the leakage current disappeared, indicating that this rectifier has an issue with excessive internal leakage current.
