What Causes Brake Pad Noise When Not Braking?

Reasons for brake pad noise when not braking: 1. The brake pads may be installed incorrectly. Upon removal, you can see that only part of the pad surface shows signs of friction. In this case, visit a 4S shop to have them removed and reinstalled properly. 2. Road debris may have gotten stuck between the brake pads while braking. This can be resolved by cleaning at a 4S shop. 3. Larger brake pads installed on a brake disc previously used with smaller pads. This requires resurfacing the disc or driving for a while until the friction marks align, eliminating the noise. 4. Poor-quality or overly hard brake pad material. In this case, the only solution is to replace them with new pads.
