A 235/85R16 tire is a tall, narrow tire primarily found on 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks, heavy-duty SUVs, and full-size vans from the 1990s and early 2000s. It was a very common OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) size for vehicles designed for substantial towing and payload capacity. If you have a set of these tires, they will likely fit trucks like the Ford F-250/F-350, Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500, and Dodge Ram 2500/3500 from that era, as well as SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban 2500 and GMC Yukon XL 2500.

The numbers "235/85R16" break down as follows: the 235 is the tread width in millimeters, 85 is the aspect ratio (meaning the sidewall height is 85% of the tread width), and R16 means it fits a 16-inch diameter wheel. This combination results in a tall sidewall, which contributes to a smoother ride when the vehicle is unloaded and provides robustness for heavy loads.

It is absolutely critical to verify that any new tires match the load index and speed rating specified on your vehicle's door jamb sticker. A tire with the correct physical dimensions but an insufficient load rating is dangerous for heavy-duty applications. While less common today, this tire size is still popular in the off-road community for vehicles like the Ford Ranger or older Toyota 4Runners, but this usually requires a suspension lift to avoid rubbing due to the large overall diameter of approximately 32.7 inches.

Vehicle Model (Examples)Typical YearsNotes

My old '96 F-250 came with these from the factory. They're a classic work truck tire—tall and skinny. You'll mostly find them on big rigs from that time: the heavy-duty Suburbans, the three-quarter-ton pickups. They give you a decent ride empty and can handle a huge load when you need to tow the trailer. Just check your door sticker to be sure you're getting the right load range. They're not as common now, but you can still find them.

From a technical standpoint, the 235/85R16 has an overall diameter of about 32.7 inches. This makes it a popular choice for a mild lift on mid-size trucks like the Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier without needing extreme modifications. The narrow tread width can be beneficial in snow or mud, providing greater ground pressure to cut through to a solid surface. However, fitment on vehicles not originally designed for them requires careful checking of clearance at the upper control arms and fender wells during suspension articulation.

In my experience managing a construction fleet, we standardized on this size for our older one-ton service vans. The key advantage is the load capacity; a Load Range E 235/85R16 can handle over 3,000 pounds per tire. They were reliable, durable, and interchangeable across different brands of trucks, which simplified our inventory. For any business running older heavy-duty vehicles, it's a proven and cost-effective size, but always prioritize the load index over anything else for safety.

I run these on my '04 Ram 2500 for hauling my camper. They're perfect because they're tall, which helps with ground clearance on rough campsites, and they're rated to carry all the weight I need. The ride is a bit firmer than a wider tire, but you get used to it. I'd say look at any big truck or SUV from the late 90s to early 2000s—that's their home. Just make sure you get the E-rated version if you're doing any serious towing.

What are the reasons for sudden failure to connect to car Bluetooth?

The reasons for sudden failure to connect to car Bluetooth include the mobile device being out of the communication range of the car Bluetooth, incompatibility between the mobile system and the car Bluetooth system, and unstable factors in electronic devices. The Bluetooth technology in car Bluetooth systems is derived from mobile phone Bluetooth technology and shares the same transmission system. Car Bluetooth is an in-car wireless hands-free system designed and developed based on wireless Bluetooth technology. The main function of car Bluetooth is to connect with mobile phones via Bluetooth technology for hands-free calls during normal driving, aiming to free up hands and reduce the risk of traffic accidents. Solutions for sudden failure to connect to car Bluetooth: You can reset the car system to factory settings, clear the Bluetooth list, turn off other Bluetooth devices, and then pair the car system via mobile Bluetooth by entering the pairing code. This is because some car Bluetooth devices require a matching code for pairing. If you have previously connected and changed your phone, it may cause the mobile Bluetooth system to remain matched with the previous phone. Try connecting another mobile phone to the car system. If it still fails to connect, it may be due to a malfunction in the Bluetooth module of the car system. You can visit the brand's after-sales service to check if it is functioning properly.

What is the fuel tank capacity of the Touran L in liters?

The fuel tank capacity of the Touran L is 60 liters, as officially announced. The Touran L requires 95-octane fuel, with a fuel consumption of 6.0-6.3L per 100 kilometers. A full tank can cover a distance of 952-1000km. During daily driving, it is essential to monitor the remaining fuel level in the tank. This is typically observed through the fuel gauge inside the vehicle. Under normal circumstances, the fuel level is accurately reflected on the gauge. The fuel gauge usually has 5 to 6 segments. It is advisable to refuel when only 2 segments remain to avoid running out of fuel mid-journey. During actual refueling, the amount of fuel added may exceed the calibrated capacity. This is because the manufacturer's specified tank capacity is measured from the bottom of the tank to the safe fill level, with additional space from the safe fill level to the tank opening. This extra space accommodates fuel expansion due to temperature increases, preventing overflow. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount added may exceed the calibrated tank capacity.

What is the fuel tank capacity of the Zhonghua Junjie FRV?

The fuel tank capacity of the Zhonghua Junjie FRV is 55 liters. It is a compact car under the Zhonghua brand. Among similar vehicles, the Nissan Sylphy has a fuel tank capacity of 55 liters, while the Volkswagen Santana has a capacity of 52 liters. If the owner wants to know the remaining fuel level, they can observe the fuel gauge on the right side of the dashboard, which is marked with E and F. When the needle is close to E, it indicates low fuel, and when it is near F, it means the fuel level is sufficient. Maintenance of the fuel tank is as follows: Drain any accumulated water and sediment from the fuel tank, and check for oil leaks at the fuel pipe joints and switches. For fuel tank caps equipped with air valves and steam valves, also check if the ventilation holes are clear. The filter screen at the fuel filler neck should be kept intact to prevent impurities from entering the tank and clogging the fuel lines during refueling. The sealing gasket on the fuel filler cap should also be intact to prevent fuel from spilling out while driving.

Which reference points to align when reversing into a parking space?

There are three reference points to align when reversing into a parking space: First reference point: When reversing, observe the left rearview mirror. When the lower edge aligns with the ground control line, turn the steering wheel fully to the right. Second reference point: After turning fully right, observe the right rearview mirror to maintain a 30cm distance between the vehicle body and the parking space corner. Third reference point: After the vehicle enters the space, while adjusting the distance between the vehicle body and the boundary line, observe the left rearview mirror. When the lower edge aligns with the parking line, stop the vehicle. Additional information: Reverse parking test: Reverse parking has been a mandatory test item for obtaining a small vehicle driver's license since 2013. It evaluates the driver's ability to maneuver the vehicle in a confined space. Reverse parking is an assessment point in the driver's test, requiring candidates to correctly reverse the vehicle into a garage from both sides while in motion. Evaluation criteria: Failing to follow the prescribed route or sequence results in disqualification. Having the vehicle body cross the line or failing to complete the parking maneuver results in disqualification. Exceeding the 210-second time limit for reverse parking results in disqualification. Each instance of stopping during the maneuver deducts 5 points.
